Landfill

VGT has a number of ongoing projects where we are engaged to monitor both active and closed landfills for fugitive gas emissions and monitor the groundwater within the cell and surrounding perimeter to provide reports to assist in the ongoing compliance of landfill site.

From the data retrieved from surface and subsurface monitoring the VGT team can assist in preventing adverse impact from on and off-site migration and emissions of landfill gas, minimise greenhouse gas emissions and identify potential landfill gas emission pathways from the landfill waste. 

VGT has extensive experience monitoring surface and groundwater at landfill sites. As well as routine monitoring of leachate and surface waters, VGT can respond to rain events to check for discharge contamination. Alongside a suite of tests VGT can perform Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) test to test for contamination. Our services promote preventative monitoring of systems to allow for intervention prior to potential pollution.
